The authentic Christmas spirit returns to the heart of Budapest at Szent István Square! This year, St. Stephen's Basilica, one of Hungary's most significant architectural masterpieces, is celebrating its 120th anniversary. To commemorate this special occasion, the Advent Basilica Christmas Market has paid tribute to the cathedral by premiering a brand-new 3D creation projected onto its facade. 

The 3D light painting projected onto the facade of the church has been a key feature of the Advent Basilica Christmas Market for many years and remains one of its most popular attractions. This year, the organizers have crafted a unique visual experience that showcases the Basilica's 120-year history, honoring its builders and the walls that have withstood the test of time. 

Hungarian craft exhibitors will be featured prominently at Szent István Square in 2025 as well. Experienced and long-standing ceramists, leather craftsmen, and jewelers are invited to return, and visitors will also have the opportunity to meet new exhibitors and explore their products. Nearly a hundred exhibitors will showcase beautiful, authentic creations at the Christmas market.

The festival will also celebrate gastronomy, offering a variety of authentic winter flavors, along with Hungaricums and exciting culinary experiences for those seeking gastronomic adventures. 

In front of the Basilica, a nativity scene depicting Bethlehem and a monumental Advent wreath will take center stage. Additionally, the Advent candle-lighting ceremony will be a key feature of the program.

As a highlight, every afternoon at 5:30 PM, the façade of the Basilica will be illuminated by a stunning light display, preceded by a musical concert on select days starting at 5:00 PM.
