The goal of this event series is to showcase renowned performing and creative artists to both the university and Szeged audiences. It also aims to highlight artistic groups affiliated with the university and to support students with artistic ambitions.
Each year, the festival's events are curated to encompass a wide range of cultures, providing programs that cater to all ages and interests whenever possible.
As part of the festival's opening, an exhibition of nature photographs by János Török will be held in the university's central building. The photojournalism and photography works of former and current students of the university have earned numerous domestic and international awards.
Additionally, a folk dance performance and a dance house will take place on Dugonics Square. The festival will be traditionally inaugurated with a light painting performance, during which the artists of the Szeged National Theatre will present a selection of songs from the musical "The Jungle Book."
Several exhibitions are honoring Kuno Klebelsberg, who played a pivotal role in the development of Szeged. An exhibition titled "Klebelsberg's Legacy - A Life in the Service of Hungarian Science and Culture" will open in the university's central building on November 7th, focusing on the former Minister of Culture. Additionally, artist Rita Sonkodi will portray Klebelsberg and his era through her paintings. In the coming weeks, the festival will feature concerts by Edina Mókus Szirtes, pianist Soma Balázs-Piri, flutist Laura Varga, and guitarist Dávid Pavlovits.
The evening event, titled "The Alliance of Voices," will showcase a collaborative production by the Szeged University Choir and the Szeged University Theatre, along with a festive concert to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the re-establishment of the Universitas Symphony Orchestra.
In the coming weeks, the festival will feature many exceptional artists. Visitors can look forward to exciting experiences in music, literature, theater, and the fine arts.
