The Paloznak Jazz Picnic has been held in Paloznak, one of the most beloved villages on the northern shore of Lake Balaton, since 2012. The event has grown from a small jamboree in the courtyard of a country house into a 3-day, 4-stage, 40-concert festival.
The basic idea was given by the connection between good wines and good music, the brainchild of Szabolcs Homola and Orsolya Valde. The creation of a high-quality event loomed before our eyes – and still looms today – that would offer an alternative to mass festivals on Lake Balaton.
In addition to featuring the best Hungarian and international performers, quality gastronomy, the presence of local producers, and a focus on sustainability are essential. A stone's throw from Lake Balaton, visitors can expect an authentic picnic atmosphere on the Paloznak vineyard hill.
The village of 500 inhabitants – just a 10-minute drive from Füred – becomes the capital of jazz on Lake Balaton for three days: large concerts are played on the main stage next to the village, with people lying on blankets during the day and dancing on the grass in the evening, under the stars.
The Paloznak Jazzpiknik program this year perfectly meets the expectations of its audience, offering world-class headliners, iconic sounds, contemporary fusions, and a seamless festival experience. Over the course of three days, Grammy Award-winning performers, chanson legends, electronic pioneers, and prominent Hungarian jazz artists will take turns on stage - all within the intimate, Lake Balaton-inspired setting of Paloznak.
Every year, colorful programs are prepared for the youngest children. They are waiting for visitors at two locations: the Children's Meadow next to the Main Stage, and the Children's Courtyard in the village center.
