Baja is situated on the banks of the Sugovica, an important tributary of the Danube, which significantly influences the character and economic life of the city. The Danube meanders here, forming the northwestern border of the town.

The Bajai Halfőző Festival, one of Hungary's most significant gastronomic and musical events, is being held for the 28th time. The festival centers on Baja fish soup, which locals and visitors prepare together in pots throughout the city. During the 4-day festival, hundreds of pots of inimitable Baja fish soup will be prepared, and according to modest estimates, approximately 10,000 servings are expected to be sold.

During the festival, concerts and performances take place on several stages. The main stage on Petőfi Island will host local and international stars, while folk dance galas and family programs will be held in Szentháromság Square.

For the younger generation, the DJ Festival offers unforgettable experiences. Local and international DJs will provide a lively atmosphere on the stage on Petőfi Island.

The festival offers numerous programs not only for adults but also for children. Craft workshops, playful contests, and children's concerts await the little ones in Szentháromság Square and the surrounding parks.

This Danube-side town awaits visitors with its postcard-worthy scenery. For nature lovers, the nearby Gemenc Forest is a surefire adventure, while the banks of the Danube and Sugovica rivers promise countless opportunities. The area is part of the Danube-Dráva National Park, which means it is protected by nature. Europe's largest floodplain forest boasts unique values, rich flora, and a diverse and special animal population.
